I’m a Scottish artist based in Edinburgh, making contemporary paintings of people and nature. I am inspired by the natural world and everyday experience – a large part of my working process is hunting for new ideas in the visual world around me, especially when spending time with family and friends, or birdwatching in my local area. I like to try and capture the spirit of particular moments in time, in the energy and directness of my brushstrokes.
I studied science at university and worked as a patent attorney for several years before completing a part-time art degree at Edinburgh College of Art in 2016. I have been working from my home studio since then and regularly exhibit locally and further afield. My paintings have been bought by collectors around the world and two of my degree show works are held in the permanent collection of the Scottish charity “Art in Healthcare”.
