Payam Beint is an Edinburgh based artist and teacher of art. His work looks at the idea of how painting can be used as a means of recording memory and the peripheral vision and non-static vistas of a journey or location.
“As a musician I find that I approach landscape painting as though I am reimagining a musical score in which colours, symbols and forms become representative of the way I process my experience of connecting with the beauty of the Scottish landscape”.
Beint spent 12 years in a teaching post within Secondary Education, specialising in Fine Art and Graphic Design. He has a BA(Hons) in Contemporary Art Practice and recently gained a Masters in Fine Art Practice from Glasgow School of Art achieving a distinction. His work has been exhibited in numerous galleries including the Royal College of Art, Art on Paper exhibition. He is currently teaching Art on a part time basis as well as continuing to develop his artistic practice from his Edinburgh studio.
