I am a versatile and dynamic British visual artist based in Edinburgh with a creative practice that explores themes such as urban decay and abandonment, dystopia and the human condition.
Most of my work lies within a representational blueprint, utilising the mediums of both and oil and acrylic paint on canvas and other surfaces. My creative process begins with an initial idea or theme followed by investigative work and studies into the narrative before a final composition is worked on. Evident in much of my work is my background in civil engineering and town planning which forms a bridge between logical exploration and creative expression.
My studies in art have been mainly at the Leith School of Art where I studied painting. I have exhibited in a number of group shows in Edinburgh and elsewhere and have had several solo shows, most recently ‘Utopia Banished’ at Coburg House Gallery, Leith in March 2020. I have work in private collections in the UK, Germany, Australia and the USA.
