I specialise in lithography and wood engraving. The expressive marks and cool, atmospheric colours of lithographs, contrast with the minutely observed detail of wood engravings. My inspiration is the landscape, history and environment of the remote places.
I trained at Edinburgh University and Edinburgh College of Art, and graduated with an MA in Fine Art. I studied wood engraving at Kirk Tower Studios Montrose and West Dean College in West Sussex. In 2012 I represented Britain in The International Print Exhibition in Kyoto, Japan and in 2014 was Printmaker Of The Year at Printfest. I was a prizewinner at the Society Of Scottish Artists on 2018.
I am a former Chairman of Edinburgh Printmakers. My work is represented in several public collections. I live in Edinburgh and on Morvern, a peninsula on the West Coast of Scotland.
