My name is Caroline Ann Mordue, I was born and grew up in the Scottish Borders surrounded by the Eildons. Graduating with a degree in Illustration in 2008, I then moved to Edinburgh and continued to pursue my passion for art by taking classes at the Leith School of Art. I am now based in Lauder, which continues to influence my natural landscape work. Taking inspiration from my love of nature I have recently been painting a series of works based on the Scottish scenery. I work based on memory and emotion, using these to create an abstract and sensitive response to the landscape. I have been featured in local exhibitions such as Light, Land and Country at Gallery 23, the Macmillan Art Show 2018 and 2019, the Art Friends of St Columbus, and in the Flat Cat Gallery. I was scheduled to have a solo exhibition in Spring/Summer 2020 titled ‘Coming Home’ at The Old Gala House which was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid-19.
