Janet Cleghorn

I love colour and pattern and am a bit of a hoarder!!
My mixed media still life paintings feature “treasures” – textile samples, china, old bottles……… collected over the years.
Fruit and flowers are placed with these to give freshness to the arrangements which are often looked on from an aerial perspective. The importance of the fabrics and their construction within the paintings reflect my past in textile design. As a designer I worked in the textile industry for 14 years. Working from home in the Scottish Borders, in a very cluttered studio, I now concentrate on painting with work exhibited across the UK.
