I was born and grew up in Mid-Argyll surrounded by spectacular countryside and the everchanging light on Loch Fyne but like most teenagers never fully appreciated it until I left home. I would wake up every morning to the sunrise on Arran with it’s peaks and beautiful light. I now see Arran from a different angle as I am settled in Ayrshire.
I always have a painting in my head whether it’s travelling locally with the big Ayrshire skies or returning “home” and beyond to mountains rolling into lochs and wild coastlines.
I work in oils and use various techniques to achieve my painting goals. I am self-taught which I think frees you up a bit to explore different methods!
