About the show
Now in it’s 22nd year, the Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show has become an established and much anticipated event in the fundraising calendar for Macmillan Cancer Support. It is one of very few charity art shows in the UK and draws audiences from Scotland and around the world. It has gained a reputation for showcasing new and exciting artists from across Scotland.
The concept is simple. We work with the artists to curate and develop the show each year. If a piece is sold at the show – or through our online store – at least half the proceeds go to the charity and the rest goes to the artist. Everyone wins. You get great artwork at affordable prices, the artist gains exposure and income and Macmillan gets much needed funds.
Bringing art lovers together for a great cause
Affordability has become a very rare commodity when it comes to original artwork. We want to offer art lovers great works at great prices. Our pieces start from less than a few hundred and never go over a few thousands. Yet, they are some of the best works you’re likely to see. You can secure original art from amazing artists knowing that you haven’t broken the bank but have contributed to the vital work of Macmillan Cancer Support.
A forum for the best artistic talent in Scotland and beyond
The show is open to all artists based in Scotland, especially within the fine art and painting communities. It has always attracted some great names and also many new and exciting artists that help to create an absorbing and vibrant show. Each artist can receive up to 50% of the sale of their artwork. And, they also gain access to new audiences attracted by our excellent central Edinburgh location. Don’t forget the famous Show Prize Draw
One thing that our Art Show has become known for over the years is our fantastic Prize Draw. We work with partners to deliver an amazing (even if we say so ourselves!) set of prizes. All money from the draw goes directly to Macmillan Cancer Support. This year is no exception and might just be our best year yet. You can’t afford to miss out!
Fair Saturday
We are a proud part of Fair Saturday Scotland!
“Fair Saturday Scotland is our contribution to the international celebration of Fair Saturday which is a global mobilisation that aims to create a positive social impact following Black Friday, the greatest expression of consumerism. Artists and cultural organisations from across Scotland and all around the world will get together in a global movement with one requirement: to support a social cause of their choice through their event.”
