I am an abstract artist based in Paisley, Scotland, where I live with my husband and two cats. I have always loved drawing and throughout the years I have explored a wide range of drawing media. During most of my life my art was representational, but eventually I veered towards abstraction and in 2017 I decided to focus on abstract painting with acrylics.
Although I consider myself essentially self-taught, I have also taken several courses and workshops at the Edinburgh College of Art and the Leith School of Art, as well as online courses with several abstract artists. Colour explorations are always my starting point. I use limited colour palettes and mark-making tools to create expressive and lyrical images of things felt, unseen and inexplicable. Ultimately, I would like that my paintings addressed the viewer’s spirit in the same way as poetry or music do.
