Harriet Selka’s paintings invite the viewer to slow down, observe and ask questions. They embrace the medium of paint, welcoming the tension created between surface and subject. Harriet is based in the Scottish Borders, London and West Cork, Ireland. She graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a BA in Fine Art Painting in 2015, and from Leeds College of Art with a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design in 2012. During her time at ECA, Harriet was shortlisted for the Astaire Art Prize. Harriet has recently exhibited paintings in Edinburgh, London, New York and Cork, and has work held in private collections across the UK and Ireland, Milan, New York and Los Angeles.
